Tip: Do not sterilize a natural rubber teat in boiling water, it may become all white and become damaged.
Just put it under the hot water jet tap with a little soap, then rinse well, that's it!

Hevea tree

The word ’’hevea’’ comes from the Latin word of the rubber tree, ‘’hevea brasiliensis’’, which grows in jungle or plantations.

La production of hevea is sustainable and limits its consequence for the environment. While many other dummies are packed in harmful unnecessary plastic which is dangerous for the nature. Hevea only use lovely recycled cardboard boxes. They are tested by an independent body to prove their compliance with the European standard EN 1400.

Latex is different of lifeblood, this one ensures water distribution, minerals salt or sugars while latex is more involved in the natural defence of the tree. It circulates in a distinct network of vessels : the laticifer canals. Like the resin,

it oozes during a possible injury of the plant, and forms by drying a protective barrier.

Latex collected by bloodletting is the cytoplasm, namely, the liquid content of laticifer cell. It’s composed of a suspension of rubber particles, but also of organites like the lutoids. However, the cores and mitochondria stay to cell walls, ensuring thus, the renewal of latex after collecting. Rubber particles represents from 25% to 45% of latex volume, and 90% if dry matter.

The different forms of natural dummies

The physiologic ended dummy: present a flattened side and another rounded. This dummy is comfortable for baby, because he can properly positioned his tongue. This dummy is always positioned in the same direction in the baby’s mouth. It is known to promote good jaw development by minimizing the risk of poor tooth positioning due to suction.

The round ended dummy : this dummy is often recommended for breastfed babies, the form of this dummy being closer of breast. We often advise it for new-borns in order to ensure a good transition breast/dummy.

The elongated ended dummy : is specially made for new-borns, it lets to baby to keep the same kind of suction than breast. That’s why dummy facilitates mixed breastfeeding, and let thus an easy passage from breast to dummy of baby bottle.

The anatomic ended dummy : the reversible anatomic nozzle is always perfectly positioned during suction, which facilitate the keeping of the dummy in baby’s mouth.
